Rei Kakakubo’s  Dover Street Market empire is about to expand its offering into NYC. The market styled concept store will open its third location after the huge success in both London and Tokyo. Whilst the location is unknown, we imagine the offering will be similar to the existing stores providing a full service offering for the most discerning customer. Making reference to the existing presence the Comme des Garcons brand has in NY, “The New York DSM will be in an area where there are no other fashion stores so that we can give a totally new identity and hence transform the area — like we did in SoHo and Chelsea,” said Adrian Joffe.

Stay tuned for detailed information and an opening date. In my opinion this move is well overdue and will be a great addition to the NY retail scene, which at times can move at a slower pace than the likes of Tokyo or London.

I haven’t been a huge fan of the flat-brimmed caps that have been coming into trend within my age bracket, but with the vintage inspiration, these really do seem tolerable.

I absolutely adore the simple ‘B’, and the muted stitching, and can envision pairing these caps off with a multitude of ensembles. Very, very adaptable and a nice twist on a trend that I haven’t been able to stand.
