Nike Celebrates “Air Max Day” In Honor Of The Anniversary of the Air Max 1

On March 26, 1987 the Nike Air Max 1 was born, and so did the way we looked at running shoes forever. For the last 27 years, the Nike Air window has been highly visible, and it has played it’s role in the popularity of the Air Max Light, BW, Air Max 90, 93, 95, 97, 360, and Air Max Lunar90 models, amongst others. To celebrate this milestone, Nike are encouraging fans to put their favorite Air Max shoes on for “Air Max Day”, and share the experience with the world via social media and hashtag #AIRMAX. The festivities will continue with the release of a special edition Air Max 1 — a healthy rendition of the original design, with the classic “University Red” colorway updated with a Volt color sole and 3.26 featured on the tongue. The premium QuickStrike Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” is now available to pre-order at Nike.comwith the sports manufacturer preparing to ship the shoes on March 22.
