If you’re a hardcore sneakerhead, by now you have either used a bot to get first-dibs on limited-edition sneaker releases, or at least know someone who has. Well, now Nike has apparently installed a new verification system meant to combat bots.

After you add a limited-edition shoe to your shopping cart, you’ll be prompted with math equations and a visual photo riddle. It’s basically what online ticket vendors have been trying to do for years with their CAPTCHA system.

It should also be noted that not all Nike releases will feature this system: SlamXHype tried to test out the new verification system by purchasing the FlyKnit Trainer Chukka FSB, Nike FlyKnit Lunar 2, Air Foamposite 2 Premium, but weren’t prompted by the new system. So, perhaps only uber-exclusive releases like the Yeezy 2′s are going to get the new verification treatment. Either way, they’re on to you.
