Introducing the Nike SB Aeroloft Kampai Jacket, a modular system designed to keep riders at the optimal temperature without slowing them down with excess bulk. The lightest, warmest, and most waterproof Nike snowboarding jacket to-date, the Kampai features Nike’s Aeroloft technology in a two-part system.
Designed for the body in motion, the Aeroloft liner delivers lightweight, breathable insulation by working with the body’s natural temperature regulators. While on the lift or in the lines, warm air remains trapped in the 800-fill down keeping the body comoftable. Once board meets powder, heat vapor can escape through the Aeroloft’s perforations keeping athletes comfortable and without distraction.
The outer shell is made of 12 denier polyester for maximum water protection and features articulation in the shoulders and sleeves for increased freedom of movement. Say goodbye to fogged up goggles thanks to the off-center zip chin-guard with built in vapor elimination system. Lastly, built in zoned ventilation zippers allow heat expelled from the liner to successfully exit the jacket.
Nike Aeroloft technology addresses the challenge of keeping athletes warm without overheating in cooler conditions. The innovation debuted in the Nike Aeroloft 800 Running Vest, an ultra-light, insulating layer composed of perforated down. Movement activates ventilation in the vest, allowing heat to escape the body through laser-cut holes situated between the down chambers. Lightweight and minimal, Nike Aeroloft technology keeps the wearer warm while providing superior ventilation.
Nike Aeroloft technology was tested extensively in Nike’s Sport Research Lab (NSRL) on a specially designed sweating mannequin in the NSRL. Scientists analyzed the effectiveness of everything from perforation placement, to the size of down baffles, to the type and amount of insulation used.
