It made sense, in 2007, when Nike created a special Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Xi Qing release to commemorate the 2008 Olympic games, held in Beijing. Only 250 pairs were released and, not surprisingly, they went fast and were much sought after.

It makes sense again, six years later, that Nike will be releasing the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG XQ “Ignite Shanghai” this summer, in concert with their “Ignite Shanghai” and “Nike Summer Nights” initiatives. If you weren’t one of the lucky few to get your hands on a pair back on ’07, you’re about to have another chance. Though the sneaker will be a high rather than a mid this time around, much is the same: black, white and red leather; gold stitching, laces and more.

These will be available at select retailers in China from July 26 to July 28.
