Prada’s Spring ’13 runway collection returned to the 70’s – wide-bottomed trousers, Pan Am-style luggage, socks with sandals et al – albeit with a contemporary twist. Pastel colours worked well with those of a more muted variety, with light khaki and grey sitting above or below brighter blues and greens in many of the looks. The show belonged to the deep blues and burgundies however, seen best in immaculate suit jackets and trousers, the latter of which used the colours as an accent on the inside leg, as well as in overcoats, which were thigh length and sophisticated. As mentioned above, sandals were the choice of footwear for the show, worn with socks in a number of thick-strapped leather versions. Shirting featured contrasting collars worn over the top of lightweight jerseys, while eyewear was of the large and luxurious variety. A comprehensive collection that will appeal to anyone who plans on taking an extravagant holiday abroad in the warmer months, or at least wants to look like they are. (
