For the Fall/Winter 2013 season Public School created a theme centered around destruction and reconstruction to portray the essence of breaking objects down to their core and building them back up. With a continued emphasis on fabric development, like wool blended knits and stretch skins, the collection featured sleek tailored jackets with leather sleeves, ombre and fabric blocking in everything from shirts to sweaters, and inventive motorcycle jackets, all paired with their Generic Man x Public School creepers.
“We really wanted to explore technique with this collection,” says co-founder Dao-Yi Chow. “The past two seasons set the tone for our silhouette and aesthetic, so we wanted to focus on developing new washes, embellishments and details that would help to define the Public School look. We looked at how the little traits of someone’s personality helped to define who they are and similarly tried to capture that with our garments.”
