The concept and design from this Raf Simons tee is derived from his highly coveted collection of spring/summer 2002. The collection was entitled “Kollaps” and featured a strong influence from the middle east as Simons combined this with his usual clean aesthetic to put out a ground breaking collection. Oversized knitwear and outerwear was a key part of the collection as well as the minimal pants which created with some great materials.

The design for this tee, which is a unique re-release was actually used on an oversized sweatshirt and features a number of bold words which are quite thought provoking. Sann Freres in Aoyama, Tokyo and Osaka have this tee available, and also celebrates the renovated Tokyo store which has now been there for 1 year.

Take a closer look at the Raf Simons Spring/Summer 2002 “Kollaps” Collection below, this was probably the collection which turned my eyes in the direction of Simons, still till this day I own a big chunk of this collection and consider it one of my favourite, not only from the belgian designer, but in menswear as a whole. It blended anarchist reference, a new silhouette, which at the time was something really new, and managed to find a juxtapozition of streetwear and fashion.
