SAWA Sneakers | Made in Africa
SAWA is the world’s first sneaker 100% made in Africa. SAWA sneakers are born from the energy of African cobblers who, together with us, are challenging the traditional North/South industrial flow (raw materials from Africa transformed elsewhere into finished goods). SAWA sneakers are made in Africa with materials from Africa.
Arriving in selected stores around the world this March, including Dover Street Market in London, Comme des Garçons in Tokyo, BlackBlock in Paris, Wood Wood in Berlin, Copenhague and Vienna, amongst others, and clearly signals a movement in the industry.

SAWA is more than a brand. It is a project whose ambition is to set the foundations of a sustainable economy, thanks to a product enriched in value from local genuine knowhow.
SAWA sneakers find their vintage inspiration from the omnipresence of second hand cloths sent from developed countries and input into the African economy.
“To tease the thousands of containers entering daily in African countries and strongly influencing the local “fashion”, our sneakers have started the inverse journey towards the “western” markets! Our shoes are not traveling alone. Together with them many other African products set sail (soaps, matchboxes, bags…).”
