The muse, typically cast as a female, is seen in a new light in the debut solo exhibition from acclaimed fashion portrait photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis.

“This Charming Man,” at Gallery North Gate in the Silas & Maria Daikanyama & Studio Bee on October 22nd, is a selection of intimate portraits inspired by the men who have interested and affected the artist over the course of three years (2007-2010), where she resided in three different metropolitan cities (Los Angeles, New York, and London). The collection serves as both an honest and intimate portrait of these creative and passionate men, exploring their living and working environments.

If you find yourself in Tokyo in less than three weeks time, make the effort to go see Ms. Jarvis’s show. You won’t be disappointed.
