Today marks the launch of Steelos, a new social shopping and sharing platform focusing on men’s fashion and lifestyle. The web-based service allows you to both shop your favorite streetwear and high fashion brands, as well as seamlessly share your favorite items with fellow tastemakers in the Steelos community.
Until now, the experience of shopping your favorite brands has been a lonely one, involving lonely treks around the Internet in search of new clothing. Steelos brings the idea of social shopping — i.e. shopping with your friends — to the Interwebs.
Here’s how it works: Everything on Steelos.com is available for purchase. As you browse the website, you’ll be able to collect, share, purchase and re-visit a wildly diverse collection of clothing from the most niche of streetwear brands to the high-end big-box retailers to exclusives offered only through Steelos. You’ll be able to access a catalogue-like, global marketplace that’ll optimize brand awareness, handle and facilitate transactions, and give a platform to raise sales. It’s not only about finding your next great purchase using Steelos’ special search tools tailored to you, but also curating your purchase into a public collection of gear. Along with the shopping and sharing components, Steelos is also partnering with Elite Daily to offer up a #MySteelo interview series with influencers, as well as articles and blog posts that pertain to the Steelos man.

If you’re a seller, your probably already on BigCartel or similar clothing-dealing sites. However, by selling through Steelos, you’ll be able to access a “catalogue-like, global marketplace that’ll optimize brand awareness, handle and facilitate transactions, and give a platform to raise sales”. It’s no long your webstore sitting alone, adrift on the sea of the Internet, hoping that Google will deliver customers to you. It’s about collectivity and reach.
