Stussy, the Irvine, CA-based streetwear giant set to celebrate its 30 year anniversary in 2010, has announced the opening of its newest North American boutique; Stussy Seattle. This will be the brand’s fourth freestanding store opening in the US over the past 2 years. Located at 1108 Pike Street, right next door to the Goods shop. “When I started Goods close to 6 years ago, it was important to me to create an atmosphere with youth influence,” says Scott Downing, an owner of Goods. “Stussy is anchored in youth culture so its going to be a great fit right next to the Goods store. It also wanted to make our area, Capitol Hill, an alternate shopping destination to the popular downtown area. We have great art galleries, coffee shops, entertainment venues and restaurants that keep consumers coming here.” “The partnership with Scott, the timing and location were right,” says Scott Terpstra, COO at Stussy.

Stussy Seattle will open on Black Friday, November 27, 2010. Stussy Seattle 1108 Pike Street, Seattle WA 98101 Hours: 11am-7pm Phone Number: 206-324-2003

It makes me sad to see how far the Stussy brand fell over the last 5 years. They were the definitive streetwear brand for so many of us getting into the culture but seemed to turn their heritage into little more than numerous neon interpretations of Shawn’s suignature, and were in serious danger of become just another lame t-shirt brand.

However it looks like they are trying to turn this around and we have seen some pretty great collaborations and products from them this year…long may it continue!!!!!
