We recently saw the Stüssy x SHOWstudio collection release on the SHOWstudio website, and every single piece sold out in a matter of minutes. The idea began with stylist Stephan Mann, (Look him up on the internet, his work is killer) commissioning Central Saint Martin BA Fashion student and designer Kiko Kostadinov to create two custom Stüssy sweatshirts for a Clash Magazine editorial.

Having caught wind of Kiko’s creation, Micheal Kopleman of Gimme5 took interest in the pieces, and had Kiko reinvent several streetwear classics for an official capsule collection with Stüssy through SHOWstudio.

The idea was inspired by the early work of American artists Richard Serra and Lawrence Weiner, particularly their series entitled ‘Displacement.’ Kiko reworked the Stüssy garments by distorting the iconic Stüssy logo on a small selection of classic sweatshirts and bucket hats, redefining some of Stüssy’s most iconic garments resulting in a one-of-a-kind collection.

Photographed by Dexter Lander and modeled by Larry B, the lookbook proves to be just as strong as the garments themselves. While this small capsule collection is no longer available, we tip our hats to the creators behind it. We hope to see more from Kiko and Stephan Mann in the future.
