Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Timberland is marking the occasion with ‘Best Then. Better Now’, a campaign that tracks the development of a brand that has always been at the top of its game. Teaming up with Brighton-based illustrator Tim Cockburn, Timberland has brought this message to flagship stores across the UK, giving customers a chance to get their boots customised by Cockburn – in the spirit of the 90’s street artists of New York who adopted the boot as a canvas for expression. In addition to this, Cockburn is completing a number of in-store murals in his signature style, turning each store window into an artist workshop and celebrating an iconic 40 years.

During the course of Tim’s reign in-store each pair of boots purchased came with a custom Timberland graffiti t-shirt or tote bag designed by the artist. Check out images from the White City, London store event above.
