Japanese label TOYPLANE and head designer Kiyonobu Nakano have unveiled the brands spring/summer 2013 collection. Crafted from only the most premium of Japanese fabric, the collection exudes a carefree and laid-back attitude. From stunt pilot to vintage wear, Nakano has spent a lot of time in the States experiencing life from being an automobile mechanic, airplane pilot to vintage store buyer this way embodying the culture. His time in the US left a strong impression of the American “good old days” which were to become the premise for his designs. Now based back in Tokyo, TOYPLANE takes inspiration from classic American culture, whilst instilling a sense of contemporary Japanese culture through the meticulous and intricate detailing in design.
