Flirtations with the avant-garde seem perfectly effortless in The Viridi-anne‘s Spring/Summer 2014 presentation. The Japanese label has always taken a slightly conceptual approach to menswear, but their centre-left positioning means their collections still appeal to those for whom function and wearability remain the most important design factors. A coordinated palette of black, set against contrasting neutral outfits, deliberately expresses a state of listlessness and the “negligence of the human mind”. A cynical look at the human condition from The Viridi-anne perhaps, but an impressive collection nonetheless.
