10 years since Yohji Yamamoto teamed up with adidas on the groundbreaking Y-3 line, the brand has seen unprecedented approval from all corners of the fashion sphere for its seamless fusing of sport technicality and avant-garde fashion presented as a clean exercise in dark minimalism. To celebrate a decade in existence, the brand is set to release a limited-edition book that takes a look through the archives, showcasing everything from clothing design to campaigns and runway presentations. The book’s format is unique in that Yamamoto and collaborators have curated words and imagery into a specific order as they see fit, rather than presenting Y-3’s chronological history. The book will be published in a limited run of 2000 copies, but unlucky for most of us will only be gifted to select friends and ambassadors of the brand. For everyone else, the book will be available to peruse in-store at global Y-3 boutiques.
