A selection of fine overgarments plus the addition of a shirt give us a sense of the crux of Yohji Yamamoto’s Autum/Winter 2012 collection – elongated and relaxed silhouettes that maintain a sohpistication due to cut, texture and materials used. The Soutien Collar Coat in a wool and cashmere blend provides luxury with an oversized silhouette that holds wide brim pockets on each side. Gold chain patterned fabric features on the inside. This oversized tailored aesthetic also lends itself to the Pin Striped Side Vent and Striped Tailored jackets crafted in wool. A Knitted Tab Cardigan adds bulk to the collection with its heavy black knitted woolen yarn, with contrasting knit patterning on the placket and a woven waist belt that threads through two side slit details. Rounding out this selection is Yamamoto’s take on the classic white shirt, which features a high granddad collar and reinforced cotton patched pocket on each side. All these pieces and more from the Yohji Yamamoto AW12 collection can be found at LN-CC.
