Exclusive to only Alife New York and on TheUpset from this Friday, November 6 will be another impressive collaboration in which Alife have curated. Made to order by Timberland for Alife New York the two worked on the iconic Timberland 40 Below boot, aka, the Super Timbs.

Alife’s version of this early 90s New York classic boot features premium leather upper from one of the first and last great American tanneries: the Chicago-based HORWEEN Leather Company. Established in 1905 and known as the country’s best leather tannery, Horween ships leather to the world’s finest shoemakers and is the leather supplier to the NFL and NBA for the manufacture of professional footballs and basketballs.

In addition, just like the 90’s version of the boot, Alife’s 40 Below features a Vibram outsole—not available on any other 40 Below on the market. Founded in 1935, Vibram is credited for producing the first ever rubber outsole with a thread designed specifically mountaineering.

“L.E.S. Captured” is a new exhibition by Clayton Patterson that documents the recent history of New York’s Lower East Side, from one of the most notoriously dark areas of the city to hipster hang out.  Hosted by Alife Presents and Kinz + Fine Art, the exhibition features a selection of photographs, a digital showcase of Patterson’s Front Door portraits and “The Documentarian” a short film from Ben Solomon, Dan Levin, Jenner Furst.

A photographer and community activist, Patterson has been living and documenting the Lower East Side since the beginning of the 80s and this exhibition gives a fascinating insight into the areas forgotten citizens, as well as the economic and cultural development of an urban environment.

The CLAYTON PATTERSON: L.E.S. CAPTURED exhibit is one of a 3-part celebration of Patterson’s work and legacy.  The exhibition takes place Alife Presents, New York from September 25^th – October 8^th.  A book signing and theatre-screening will also soon be announced.

Alife are no stranger to collaborations of great significance, as to are Dickies. The two have come together to present a collection of workwear for the New York based label and retailer with great distinction. It is always interesting to see how Dickies is portrayed in certain environments and Alife have done an exceptional job with the jacket, shirt, pants and shorts.

This Saturday, August 1st, at 2PM, Alife Rivington Club is set to release the highly anticipated Nike Dunk High Supreme TZ. In contrast to the previous collaborative release between Alife Rivington Club and Nike, the all white A.R.C. AF1 this A.R.C. Nike Dunk High features an all black upper adorned by a white Swoosh and a white A.R.C. seal on the heel. As with the AF1, the upper sits on a tonal midsole and gum colored outsole.

Hidden within the shoe’s simple and classic upper design are technical features that enhance its functionality, most notably in the use of Schoeller technical fabrics and 0.44 sticky rubber outsole. The A.R.C. Nike Dunk High retails for $158.00 and will be accompanied by a complimentary “Black, White, Gum & Bang!” T-shirt to the first 100 customers that purchase the shoe. For those who are not in the first 100, the shirt will also be available for purchase from the A.R.C. Sports location at 157 Rivington Street.

Last but not least, in celebration of this release, A.R.C. has invited world-reknown turntablist and scratch champion DJ Craze to host a reception open to all that purchase the A.R.C. Nike Dunk High. The Black, White, Gum & Bang! party will be hosted in A.R.C.’s own courtyard between 3 PM and 6 PM and feature complimentary drinks.

Alife Rivington Club are pioneers when it comes to this generation of the sneaker era, having reigned supreme with numerous high profile releases along with an exception retail concept. Here is the stores latest project featuring Nike Sportswear, using the Dunk High Supreme TZ the played down finish is something to admire. The black suede upper with gum sole and white accents makes this a timeless design.

ALIFE is pleased to announce RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, an exhibition by photographer/filmmaker Kai Regan. The show is a solo installation around rebellion and the belief that one should never settle or be scared to express their frustrations and anger with the status quo. The exhibit includes all new photographs and sculptures. The work is displayed in a site-specific environment created for the occasion with the help of New York graffiti writer EARSNOT of the IRAK crew. 

Under our law, “reckless endangerment” is a crime consisting of acts that create a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person. The accused person isn’t required to intend the resulting or potential harm, but must have acted in a way that showed a disregard for the foreseeable consequences of the actions. 

The show is a dialogue between destruction and creation. With it, Regan shows that by way of destruction, one creates change, stimulation, and ultimately evolution. 

Artist Statement: “Behind the various sides of destruction lies intent and therefore this show also examines that concept together with cause and effect. Depending on intent a political riot can provoke change, but it can just as easily destroy the cause it stood for. This show examines your intent, the line you walk, or destroy, coupled with an understanding of the balance of both destruction and creation.” 

The exhibition will be accompanied by a large-format catalog of Regan’s featured photographs and others not on display, as well as a small T-shirt collection representing the Reckless Endangerment theme. 

Regan’s exhibition marks the grand opening of the ALIFE PRESENTS space and ALIFE’s return to the production of ALIFE art exhibits which, over the years, have included some of this generation’s most notable pop and contemporary young artists. 

The opening reception will take place on June 11th from 7 to 8pm, and a private reception for the artist will be held that same night. Both events are in association with, and hosted by, Index Magazine and Belvedere Vodka.
