From the cover art work by Daido Moriyama to labels like Arts & Science, Woolrich Woolen Mills, kolor Thom Browne, White Mountaineering, Cassette Playa, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Porter Classic, CASH CA, Neighborhood amongst those featured while artists like Peter Sutherland, Agathe Snow and Brett Westfall contributing in fine fashion.

THE NEW ORDER Issue 5 will be available from next week in Japan, in particular Edition in Omotesando Hills, with a release in Europe, North America and the rest of the world will be before the end of the month.

Nick Pagan is an artist of Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, CA and in addition to drawing, painting, ceramics, and textiles he also makes cardboard “guitars” which he plays at art exhibitions and for short films that he makes.

His most recent film “Headbanging” can be seen below and features Nick playing his guitar to original music, created by the 666 Project.

On April 1st, Bärnacle will be featuring Nick Pagan on guitar at the Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, CA for their upcoming “Home Show.”  Trust me, you’re not going to want to miss this if you’re in the area!

Our annual HOME show is a celebration! Join us to admire art and architecture as we celebrate the completion of the Creative Growth building project.

Creative Growth artists blend fashion with function during our annual spring event, featuring a home-grown runway show styled by local Oakland shops: Cougar Horse, Mercy Vintage, and Maribel.

Don’t miss music by L.A.’s Instru-Metal trio, Bärnacle, featuring Creative Growth performance artist Nick Pagan, minstreling by the Oakland Soft-Rock Choir and sets by DJs Whitemare and Pinche Rojas.

Bärnacle, formed in Los Angeles in 2009, they found themselves playing their first Instru-Metal show in Osaka, Japan for their highly anticipated photograph, drawing, and fashion installation “Voices of Nature.”

Bärnacle is inspired by travel, art and their own fashion brands (Unholy Matrimony and KZO/Creative Growth for Everybody). They are continually    seeking    new    inspiration    from    sources    off    the    beaten    path.   Abiding by their tagline “We Don’t Do Music,” Bärnacle’s experimental sound takes you on a cinematic voyage to the cerebral.

Bärnacle is: Brett Westfall, Joel Knoernschild, Katie Malia and Josh Giroux.

Unholy Matrimony Fall/Winter 2010 Preview is a post from: SLAMXHYPE

The opening definitely lived up to its immense expectations. Friends and family came in hordes to support this latest endeavor from Westfall, whose last venture in retail, the Comme des Garcons Guerrilla Store +1 213, was a great success. Westfall has taken his artistic approach to his work and has incorporated it seamlessly into this new space. The ample room coupled with the space’s tastefully minimal layout creates many opportunities for installations, which has already been taken advantage of by the store’s proprietor, whose work can currently be seen against one of the east walls. In addition to those pieces from Westfall, his collaborative installation with KZO’s Joel K. was also on display and it was met with much enthusiasm due to the interesting juxtaposition of lush greenery set against the concrete floor. The artistic expression does not end there as the aforementioned jeweler and artist Darcy Miro contributed some of her incredible metal sculptures to the space adding to the gallery-like dimension to the space.

“Voices of Nature” is the culmination of many creative mediums, the first put out by Brett Westfall and Joel K with a series of drawings and retrospective Polaroid’s. In addition their band, “Barnacle” will play when the show opens at Remix in Osaka, Japan. The combination of Brett, Unholy Matrimony and Joel, KZO is very unique and shows their ability to transform their talent in a medium besides designing clothing making this a very unique pairing.
