Fusing together the more fashion orientated concept of the German sports wear brand with the snowboard emphasis of Burton makes for great fascination. With two pieces of footwear and two pieces of outerwear, each piece takes on stronger elements of each other.

Burton x Starks Hail Boot

Having worked together with Timberland earlier in the year, Starks have created this new project with Burton. Reworking the Hail Boot, the combined approach features a tree camo print with a quilted finish adding a nice touch to the technical boot while the design is obviously completed with signature Starks laces. This season Burton introduce a new technical line named Burton Restricted, and to celebrate this new line they have given their prized riders Keegan Valaika, Mason Aguirre, Yale, and Kazo creative control having them state their favorite artists and designers including lengendary cartoonist, and personal favourite, Robert Crumb. Also known as R. Crumb, he has created a backdrop fabric for Burton Snowboards new Restricted Dyer Jacket w09 consisting of color comic strips on the outside and black and white sections for the inside. Also featuring DRYRIDE Durashell 2-Layer coated fabric, thermacore insulation, taffeta lining, Burton sig fit and link ZIP jackt-to-pant interface they are at limited numbers of 500 units and shipped in a “black bag”, the Burton x R. Crumb – Restricted Dyer Jacket will be available, along with the rest of Burton Restricted Collection, at selected Burton dealers only starting in August and September of this year.

Burton have proved to be more than a snowboard label of late with some really exciting projects coming together. Most notably attracting some of the brightest names to put there mark on their bread and butter, snowboards with the likes of Futura2000 coming to mind. This latest piece of news is welcoming with Alife coming into play, culminating in the Burton 09 Custom board with a Sintered Base. The board comes in two sizes, 158cm and 162 cm and will only be available from ALIFE flagship and Burton flagship stores around the world.
