Camper have invited another illustrious designer to work with the footwear brand, this time French avant-garde designer Romain Kremer. Putting together a unique rendition of the classic oxford shoe by applying a more functional aspect with the sneaker finish. Featuring a leather upper, a lace-up design, cushioned insole and rubber outsole, aesthetically the design is highlighted by the colorblocked rubber heel that features different shades.

The coming together of Camper and Beauty & Youth, puts further emphasis on the resurgance of the footwear makers with Bernhard Willhelm also working with them to gret effect. The outcome of the Japanese brand and retailer working together is far more refined, although quite distinctive. The first piece is a Chuakka, that features a fairly traditional mould, although both colorways are highlighted by a paint splatter. In addition the Deck shoe makes for a much more fun rendition of a classic deck shoe with a more chunky finish.

Having made a release in a woodland camouflage, the Camper x Bernhard Willhelm To&ether Hiking Sneaker is back with a more refined black/grey/white version. Bernhard Willhelm, who graduated from the highly coveted Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, same academy as the likes of Martin Margiela, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dirk Bikkembergs amongst others founded his label in 1999 to great acclaim. His continuing project with Camper has highlighted his outlandish and fun approach, making Willhelm a name to remember.

Camper and Romain Kremer have collaborated for Kremer’s Fall 2010 Collection as seen last week at Paris Mens Fashion Week. One of the stand out new designers in menswear today, the designer unique forward thinking approach has not gone unnoticed and is certainly a favourite here at SLAMXHYPE. His same visionary style has been exported into his work with Camper on this upcoming collection. The collection is crafted using a combination of premium leather and rubber – the rubber detail will be available eye popping nylon colors as well classic black.

After closing her doors on her own 11 year old company this year, Veronique Branquinho is putting her creative juices to good use by not only being appointed artistic director of the 180-year-old Belgian leather goods maker Delvaux but by also working alongside Spanish footwear company, Camper, to create a menswear line of shoes.

“She was very enthusiastic about the brand and its roots, sharing the same values regarding creativity, design, good quality, simplicity and austerity,” said Dalia Saliamonas, sales director for the Camper Together collections. “The result was an elegant and subtle Derby shoe with refined detailing.”

The spring collection includes three men’s Derby styles: a leather lace-up, a similar model with a step-down heel, and a third version in leather and linen materials. The shoes will be available globally at all Camper stores, Camper.com and select wholesale partners. The collaborations between Veronique Branquinho and Camper are scheduled for the next two seasons ahead.

From what we have heard Bernhard Willhelm has taken footwear design out of their repertoire and are only to create shoes with Spanish footwear company; Camper. Here we see the latest release from their collaboration; Camper x Bernhard Willhelm boots. With the main feature being the leather strap lace up, which intertwines through an ankle section too, the boots come in a washed out black leather finish. A good pair to join up I think, with Bernhard’s designing talents combined with Campers comfort and technical attributes. Looking forward to seeing more..
