The diffusion line by the Japanese designer has grown a lot of the past few seasons, becoming more and more encompassing. Here’s a look at what’s arriving in stores this season.

Le Chef Chic for COMING SOON Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

Coming Soon is a brand brought out of a new era in fashion, an era where simple basics rule and consumers fight against brand bias. This video by Max Vadukul shows that Yohji Yamamoto’s brand has learnt to target this new consumer through viral advertising, they even have a blog now.

“This fourth chapter, “Le Chef Chic”, takes place in Paris, France. “Le Chef Chic” is a positive and fresh story of a chef who is a sun worshiper. He comes alive when the sun shines. His two co-workers love to work and entertain their customers. The music was specially created by the COMING SOON band to highlight the happy swing to the story. This short color film is directed by Max Vadukul. It was filmed in anamorphic aspect with the new Arriflex 21 camera. He worked in collaboration with the French choreographer Hervé Koubi. The film stars seven dancers: Alexandra Besnier, Carlos Ferreira da Silva, David Guasgua, Min-Jeong Kim, Hervé Koubi, Guillaume Milhac, and Carla Portal.”

While Yohji Yamamoto’s mainline has been in the headlines of late for all the wrong reasons, his diffusion line ‘Coming Soon’ which I guess suits the economy and market alot better continues to strive forward. Here’s a look at the brands Spring/Summer collection for 2010. The Rose Camoflauge combat pants have to be the pick of the collection.

Yohji Yamamoto is a strong believer in men dressing in an understated fashion, his line Coming Soon takes away from his usual avant-garde and brings his vision down a notch. This coming Spring 2010 collection see’s the Japanese super designer team up with one of the newer names around, Generic Surplus, in creating collaborative footwear and a capsule collection.

Yohji Yamamoto’s Coming Soon line aims to provide timeless and casual clothing to the people who know what they like. The upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 collection is no different where interesting silhouettes are put into the mix with the usual Yamamoto aesthetic. The collection also features the mixing of dark shades, subdued colours and some mighty fine prints. Last season there were some stellar pieces, especially the sneakers and we can surely expect the same for the coming season. The Coming Soon line will be dropped off at selected stores this coming spring.

Yohji Yamamoto’s Coming Soon line in my opinion is not only one of the best new collections on the market, but in a way its a return to Yamamoto’s best design aesthetic. This new Work Vest, available at Blackbird, utlises a tonal patchwork panels of herringbone and a cotton/flax, showing a simple garment can be given an understated new mix.

Yohji Yamamoto has really been able to express himself in a refreshing manner with his label Coming Soon. The label is a refined and more casual collection of expressionism from the famed Japanese designer. This small group of items released really defines the approach he takes with the detailing standing out on the simple creations.

Coming Soon by Yohji Yamamoto is one of the most exciting labels out at the moment in my view. Since its inception the label has taken on board the Japanese designers unique approach and he has mixed it with something very relaxed with loose lightweight items and more refined cuts. With another collection released in time for spring it is more of the same that appeals with chambray pants and light blazers making up most of the collection while the shirting and shorts are on another level with the bomber jacket.

Nylon coated cotton, fishtail mod’s coat with hood Coming Soon compiled by Yohji Yamamoto has put together another exceptional piece. With no details left aside there is an adjustable interior drawstrings at waistband, hood and hem while the jcket closes with a two-way zipper and snaps on placket and completed with a front flap pockets with snap closure at waist and single welted vertical pocket at right chest.

Coming Soon, the line created famed Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto takes on a very minimal approach typical of his work while adapting unique concepts. This release has combined a scarf with a pair of mittons, the 10 foot scarf allows you to put your cold hands in the rendered ends making for quite the interesting concept.

Here are some great blazers from Coming Soon that were recently features on Blackbird’s site. These very stylish pieces are said to have a nice oversized fit that is common to Yohji Yamamoto’s style and cuts. A solid black blazer that is really nice and clean looking will be available as well as a chalk striped version.

Coming Soon is Yohji Yamamoto’s new diffusion line, targeting a more street wise consumer, with a more casual look but of course in keeping with the designers strong philosophy of understated quality and black and white themes. These Canvas High Cut sneakers, and Jackets are the first offerings from the brand, expect much more over the coming weeks and months.

It was announced late last year that the legendary Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto would introduce a more affordable line aimed at a younger market named “Coming Soon”. The confusingly named label launched in the Autumn / Winter 2008-09 season this year, licensed to Italian manufacturer SINV SpA, ‘Coming Soon’ is designed to propel the Japanese designer into the big-volume leagues. Although there is no Yohji Yamamoto branding in the collections, the signature Yohji look is evident, featuring baggy pants, dropped shoulders and loose bottoms. Definitely a label to keep an eye out for in the future.
