In an interesting venture Comme des Garcon has just launched their new retail concept entitled TRADING MUSEUM Comme des Garcons. Most of CdG’s various sub lines will be available for purchase accompanied by two exhibits that will be on display. World renowned crystal company Baccarat will be in the “Crystal Meets Fashion” display shared with 32 punk inspired t-shirts by Vivienne Westwood, Boy, Jamie Reid and various unknown designers. The collection is courtesy of The Contemporary Wardrobe Collection which was “born out of a passion for youth culture, and recognition of street fashion’s importance, the collection now exceeds fifteen thousand garments designed between 1945 and the present day.”

Also on display and for purchase will be The Beatles by CdG line.

Japan’s High Fashion Magazine will have an editorial in their April issue featuring Comme des Garcon’s Homme Plus line. The editorial is photographed by Yasutomo Ebisu and captures the lines interesting take on formal wear that is at the same time elegant and playful. My favorite are the bow ties.

Dover Street Market in London have adopted a new look for the new year, a facet which really provides their image with a refreshing concept. Labels that are new and old to the store have their own space and the well known retailer is able to present each label with a fresh look that reflects that label and adopting the term Tachiagari, a Japanese term that means a new beginning is in place as Spring/Summer 2010 collection begin to drop. Amongst the ever present Comme des Garcons are the likes of the DSM Line, Garden Space, Lanvin, Nicholas Kirkwood as well as many more. More images are below.

You can always count on Comme des Garcons to deliver a collection that is completely left field of anything else that exists out there already. Their Homme Plus Spring/Summer 2010 Collection offers an eclectic mix of modern vs old tartans and color choices. What would have a been a basic and typical shirt has been layered with additives such as a two-layer pocket of heavy fabric sporting a cut-out heart shape which gives the illusion of it falling from out from the pocket. 

A very loud collection which may be too full on to be wearing head to toe. But if you want any individuality this season, look no further.

Here is a look at a few of  Comme des Garcons‘ Fall/Winter 2009 releases from the BLACK Comme des Garcons collection. Abiding to the all black aesthetic of the range, this release sees an interesting use of a black over dye to achieve a neat two-tone fading color effect on some of the perennially popular items from Comme des Garcons. Included in the collection are overdyed checkered and plaid button downs, as well as striped and plain colored long-sleeve tees.  A very simple and distinctive Comme des Garcons look that will likely be desired long after the collection’s 18 months existence.
