What I consider to be one of the best causes around, the (RED) Charity continues to find ways to raise funds and awareness for AIDS research. Gaps (PRODUCT) Red campaign has been one of the major sources of assistance for this charity, and Aaron Bondaroff AKA A-Ron the Downtown Don is the latest to contribute, with the release of this tee. The New Yorker almost single handedly made tee’s with quirky phrases as big a deal as they have been. Buy this tee to support a great cause.

Gap x Pantone NYC Pop-Up Store

This past weekend Gap and Pantone opened up a pop-up shop on 5th Ave in the company’s ‘concept store’ space. The shop will sell t-shirts in a range of Pantone hues. Pantone recently unveiled its pick for the 2009 color of the year called Mimosa (14-0848) Pantone describes the color as having seven characteristics, optimistic, hopeful, reassuring, warm, cheerful, radiant, and versatile which they feel are the most relevant to the next twelve months. Gap has issued a Mimosa hued shirt that is only available at the store on 5th. Sounds like the rest of the line will show up for sale on the company’s website and other stores.

If Pantone t-shirts sound familiar, yes they have been done before by Uniqlo. While Gap’s packaging might not be as eye-catching, the color of the year release is an interesting twist on the idea of seasonal releases in fashion. The shop is open now thru February 8th.

OK, so its pretty obvious I’m a huge Adam Kimmel fan by now, but here’s a look at his latest offering, and at the same time the newest from the line of exciting products made especially for the colette X GAP project. I can’t remember the last time I wore a tie, but… maybe the time is getting closer than I thought.

Starks Laces For colette And Gap

Here is another interesting collaboration involving colette and Gap, having combined with NYC shoe lace manufacturer Starks. The final product is simple, an all black piece with a yellow line down the centre, which really epitomizes the adaptability of Starks and the minimal feel that colette and Gap have created.

Having followed the coming together of the work between colette and Gap in recent weeks here is another piece of the puzzle. The final product is this Longchamp Pliage Bag, a classic piece featuring everyone’s favourite grey fleece providing great effect. With the opening of the colette x Gap store beckoning it is welcoming to see they have worked closely with Florence Daygas + Olivier Kuntzel to offer some items for the store. Having seen the Incase case they designed now comes a pocket tee and a deep v-neck, featuring the signature eye graphic they have made their own. In addition there is a tin of mint candies, featuring a subtle piece of artwork on the white tin.

As a part of the Colette x Gap concept store, opening on September 6th in New York City, and in the spirit of international collaboration, Colette and Gap are to release a series of t-shirts by Paris x New York artists. Unsurprisingly, there are some exciting collaborations involved in this project including Artus x Peter Arkle, Miss Tic x Claw Money, Jean-Philippe Delhomme x Ruben, Thomas Lelu x Tobias Wong, Genevieve Gauckler x Eric Elms x and Andre x Neckface.
