Lanvin

Lanvin is the oldest Fashion House in operation, but its in its latest era since Alber Albaz took the helm in 2001 that we’ve witnessed its reincarnation and huge level of popularity and influence.

Founded: 1889
Founder: Jeanne Lanvin
Location: Paris, France
Website:

Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin off the back of demand for the clothing she made for her daughter around Paris, by the 1920’s Lanvin had launched shops selling, Womenswear, Menswear, Furs, Lingerie, Home Decor and even saw the landmark creation of Lanvin’s signature Perfume.

When Jeanne Lanvin passed in 1946 the label started a new era which saw it pass through numerous hands and never again see the heights and popularity it had in the 20’s and 30’s, until, what is considered the oldest fashion house still in operation, was purchased by investment group Harmonie S.A.

By October 2001, Alber Albaz was appointed as director of all creative activities and a new era in Lanvin was born. Albaz transformed the brand and brought it into a new century, whilst keeping the brands signature feminine and luxury appeal.

In 2005 Lucas Ossendrijver was employed as Menswear Designer, and yet again, Lanvin endured another turn in fortune, the new menswear direction saw it attract a new generation of menswear looking for a luxurious twist on classic sportswear. Ossendrijver’s menswear collection picked up a cult following, its sneakers are seen on the feet of the most influential names in fashion, and Pop Culture today.

Lanvin is sold in the most important boutiques and department stores around the world alongside its own flagship stores in Bal Harbour, Paris, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Osaka, London, Casablanca, Geneva and Antwerp.
