Two entities that have a good working relationship, luxury label mastermind JAPAN and retailer THE CONTEMPORARY FIX, have teamed up again to create a pop-up store etitled mastermind PARIYA. As expected a small intallation of products have been created exclusively for the store with a sneaker made with SASQUATCHfabrix., a skull motif plush toy and a specially branded lunch box inclusive of a bento box and chopsticks. With the space open until January 28, this makes for a must see if in the area.

Japan’s experts in luxury streetwear have teamed up with Mercedes-Benz to create a one of a kind G55 Wagon. A fitting black make up of the car with mastermind Japan branding, the car itself doesn’t seem to have changed much, but we do think the pairing of the two brands is interesting, we’re eager to see if this is the start of more work together.

If you had turned up to mastermind JAPAN’s show at the fairly recent Tokyo Fashion week you would have heard the news about this latest initiative from the Japanese cult label. Having unveiled plans for upscale condominiums available for purchase starting in January 2012 entitled JUBAN, the space is located in the heart of Tokyo and encompasses a 45 unit utopia while all the detailing is defined by the mastermind JAPAN critique. Here is a fascinating project between mastermind JAPAN and Phenomenom with a theme based on the iconic A-1 flight jacket. Consisting of a jacket, with the core based on the A-1 although interpreted to combine the critique of each entity with a hood and zip applications defining the piece. In addition there is a cap, featuring the pocket you are used to seeing on the sleeve of the jacket with an otherwise simple design. Both pieces are completed with co-branding that highlights the skull motif well associated to mastermind JAPAN and the well known Phenomenom font.

Updated with a 21mm lens, an angular pop-out handle, a 3-inch touch-screen display, and a 12 megapixel HD recording system. The design is highlighted by a the branding of each mastermind JAPAN, on the black design and Ron Herman, on the white piece and will be available from October in limited numbers.

The two entities are working alongside retailer Contemporary Fix with a a pop-up restaurant called “THE MASTER BURGER” that will be open for a long weekend is the outcome. The menu consists of a Wasabi Avocado Burger, Bacon Egg Cheeseburger, Gorgonzola Lamb Burger and Shrimp & Fresh Vegetable Burger. Completing the project is a limited edition plates and burger keychain, so if you are in the area you should stop by between Saturday, July 30 and Monday, August 1.
