What do you get when you bring over a hundred artists and their work into a single space?? The answer: Re:Form School.

In less than two weeks, art and education collide on the corner of Mott and Prince at the old St. Patrick School in New York City in hopes of teaching us how important creativity, growth, learning, and understanding is to our schools and to our youth.

Art world heavy weights such as Shepard Fairey, WK Interact, Swoon, Michel Gondry, Cody Hudson, and many more have joined the cause to fix our ailing school systems… will you? Come and show your support. Volunteers are needed everyday.. so please stop by and lend a helping hand.

RE:FORM SCHOOL is a simple reminder of what we’re missing. We need art. We need education. We need to fix what’s broken. Let’s all re-do…

“The Green Hornet” Directed by Michel Gondry

A Michel Gondry directed, Seth Rogen written action comedy at first seems like a pretty random collaboration, but it has all the staples of a big budget superhero film, with a tragic origin story, city corruption, car-mounted machine guns, a generous dose of comedy, and Cameron Diaz as a sexy secretary. Rogen stars as an heir to a media empire, who finally makes something of himself when he crosses paths with Kato (Jay Chou), who brings all the gadget-savvy know-how to their vigilante operation. It’s hard to believe this is the same director who made The Science of Sleep, Enternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Be Kind Rewind, but.it will be exciting to see Gondry’s transition into the budget studio film.

The Green Hornet is set for release earlier 2011. Check out the trailer below.

That time of the month is almost here as Cinema Tuesdays at Nike Sportswear at The Montalbán will be presenting another one of their monthly screening curated by Flux on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. This month’s feature, “An Evening With Michel Gondry and Friends,” will be an event packed full of awesomeness including a screening of Gondry’s new DVD, Michel Gondry 2: More Videos Before & After DVD 1, a special Q & A segment with Gondry, live music from special surprise guests, the sounds of DJ Matthieu Schreyer, drinks from Belvedere IX, a DVD signing session AND an after party. Michel Gondry has recorded a wonderful audio book version of his tome You’ll Like This Film Because You’re In It: The Be Kind Rewind Protocol. The release is in conjunction with WonderSound and is available exclusively at the iTunes store. This is a really exciting piece of work deriving from Michel Gondry’s debut book with the functional memoir of his quest to put the tools of filmmaking in the hands of as many people as possible.

Michel Gondry to direct the Green Hornet

The great Michel Gondry is in negotiations to direct a feature film of the famous Greet Hornet story. Originally destined to be directed by Stephen Chow, creative differences ended in his defection. That said Chow is still set to star in the film, alongside Seth Rogan. Stay tuned for more info.
