Inspired by the renowned film “The Magnificent Seven” Japanese label Neighborhood have compiled another compelling collection. The influence from the Western film has been applied to the usual approach that Shinsuke Takizawa has developed for the label over the past 15 years. Having featured Neighborhood in THE NEW ORDER it is always interesting to see what the label is working on and this collection is another impressive project to come to fruition.

Teaming up with Porter, the project has seen an indigo denim tote bag com to fruition utilizing each labels traditional branding. With the construction bolstering the usual quality we associate with Porter, the piece is finished off with a black canvas base.

LUKER is the sub-label of distinguished Japanese brand Neighborhood. They had their first collection this Fall, which was awesome looking and very 50’s inspired. The LUKER site describes themselves as having “a more refined silhouette and sizing, having a tighter build on the whole.”

They recently updated their website with this photo and an announcement for January 8. This is probably a shot from their Spring/Summer 2010 collection. This is definitely something everyone should be excited about!

If you have picked up the latest issue of THE NEW ORDER you would have seen a preview of the Neighborhood x fragment design Vintage Custom Works collection. A hugely impressive project which injects new life into the vintage rider jackets from the past. Applying patches bearing both entities names as well as an all new lining to these well damaged jackets defines the collection. While the addition of cotton jackets, zip parkas and tees completes the whole project between Shinsuke Takizawa and Hiroshi Fujiwara.

Created in 1994 by Shinsuke Takizawa and inspired by his passion for motorcycle culture and military clothing Neighborhood has grown to become one of Japan’smost iconic streetwear brands due to the robust and timeless nature of the concept behindtheir clothing.  This year has seen them mark their 15th anniversary in style, with a high profile party and commemorative t-shirt range.  Their latest celebration is a special edition of Grind Magazine, which includes a specially commissioned photo shoot featuring some of the most influential Japanese street culture icons modeling Neighborhood clothing, including a rather enviable Neighborhood X Fragment leather bikers jacket.  Featured in the shoot are Tomoya Nagase (Tokio), Masatoshi Nagase (actor), Hiroshi Fujiwara (fragment), Show Ayanocozey (Kishidan), Keisuke Baba (Stylist / GB Skins) … and others.

Levi’s Vintage Clothing have compiled some of the most influential names in Tokyo fashion to rework their most recognizable cuts of denim. Not only are these names renowned in fashion, but they also hold a large amount of significance when it comes to denim. Those who have reworked the denim include Hiroshi Fujiwara of fragment design, Shinsuke Takizawa of Neighborhood, Kazuki Kuraishi of Levi’s Fenim/adidas, Takahiro Miyashita and Makoto Azuma. The models of the 501xx recreated are from 1955, 1933, 1944, 1886, 1947 respectively.
