Last year saw Nike Sportswear debut its “Made in Italy” collection. Designed as a Tennis inspired collection and released off the back of Wimbledon at London’s Selfridges… the collection see’s its reincarnation with a Febuary 19th release date at Nike’s 1948, Hanon, End and oki-ni, with stockists outside of the UK to be announced.

I’ve seen pieces from this collection and can’t recommend it enough, its refined and the quality is beyond any expectations.

Dr. Romanelli returns to his roots in a way with his latest project, his own re-working of Nike Sportswear’s Destroyer Jacket. Romanelli first came to fame in this culture through his re-working of Jordan Jackets, this Destroyer Jacket is reminiscent of those times. The Jacket which is 1 of 1 was created in support of the Black AIDS Institute and its mission to stop the AIDS pandemic within black communities. The Black AIDS Institute hopes to raise awareness and resilience in the face of the HIV disease.

Sneeze Magazine made waves a few weeks ago with their latest issue featuring the lovely Kate Upton, but this time around the guys are back on behalf of Nike Sportswear with “Always On: NYC.” The magazine features an interesting mesh of music, b-ball and of course footwear, all highlighted by photography from Kenneth Cappello, as well as a cover illustration by William USA and art work by JK5. This special edition mag can be picked up at 21 Mercer and the Nike Sportswear custom ice cream truck, which can be found at summer hoops locations at Drucker Park, Dyckman Park, and West 4th.

Apart of Nike’s upcoming Fall 2011 collection, we get the debut style of the Nike Air Royal Mid SO. The “SO” in the name is abbreviated for Stitched Outsole, which combines the upper portion of the shoe with the crepe rubber sole. The stitched outsole construction minimizes the use of solvents and adhesives for a premium finish that showcases the shoe’s simplified aesthetic. The shoe will release in three colorways cool grey, beachtree and black with contrasting crepe soles. The shoes feature a perforated suede upper, and an Air Max Air-Sole unit in the heel to maximize comfort. Set to release to this month, be sure to keep an out for these at Nike Quick Strike account holders.

The upcoming Spring/Summer collection from Nike Sportswear is an exercise in restraint when it comes to the the styling, design, as well as color palate as we have seen Nike Air Flow TZ. The Air Flow won’t be the only footwear featured from the collection as the Toki returns in as raw and minimalist of an make up as we have seen it. The tonal Toki suits is quite fitting of the lookbook we have seen, as the earth tones and black play a heavy role in carrying much of the collections pieces. The collection is to be release this weekend as Selfridges host “Live for the Game” presented by Nike Sportswear. Really liking what i’m seeing from Nike Sportswear for the coming season.

Nike and Japanese brand uniform experiment have created a new All Court Mid shoe for the upcoming opening of the Nike Course pop-up store inside the Isetan Shinjuku store. Nicknamed the ‘Polka Dot’ for its pattern, the All Court shoe is one of the exclusive products created for the pop-up shop and are set to release June 18th for ¥ 13,650. The pop-up store opens up June 15th and will remain open June 21st.

Nike’s vintage shoe revival campaign is definitely in full effect. We get our first images of the upcoming “Textile Blue” Field Trainers and the vibrant color combination definitely delivers. Whether they are worn on a track or not, these low top sneakers will look great. Featuring blue suede and plush perforations leather on the upper atop a sunny yellow and white midsole with gum bottom. No price or release date given as of yet, but we’ll make sure to keep the news on these updated as information comes along.

The popular, running-inspired Nike Cortez, originally introduced in 1972, were the first full-length, dual-density foam midsole designed for comfort and shock absorption. For Nike’s upcoming Summer 2011 collection, all new colorways of the classic footwear style are being released. Still utilizing the shoes original build and make, the shoes feature nylon uppers featured in Brown Kelp and Mineral Blue.

The Toki is one of Nike’s more recognizable pieces, although unlike many other designs that are known for being innovative and far advanced this classic chukka is subdued and refined. For spring, the sneaker has been reworked with a thin, lightweight premium leather in a nice shade of off white making this a great release.

Sports club Forza e Coraggio, the Canottieri Milano, and Amatori Rugby Milano teams all stopped into Staidum Milan with their own renditions of the Destroyer Jackets. Nike decided to dedicate a specialized jacket for each of the respective teams and highlight each of their accomplishments throughout the jackets details. A celebration was held for the releasing of these jackets, giving the Milanese sports fans a chance to check out these beautiful odes to their sporting history. The jacket is available now with complimentary custom patches of the three historic clubs, at Nike Stadium Milan.

Their jackets and details are all featured down below, and appointment bookings are now available for people who can make it out to Stadium MFG. Starting December 17th you can speak with a design consultant and book your appointment to take your shot at making your own jacket. Costing only $580 to get your jacket customized to your own liking, it will be like creating your High School Letterman Jacket all over again, but this time you’ll have Nike backing you.

Each edition of the City Destroyer is customized with local City graphics and colors inspired by the sport teams and cultural movements in each of the cities, including: New York, London, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio De Janeiro and Los Angeles.

Last night the Nike Sportswear team held their LA Destroyer Exhibition. Held inside an old abandoned bank, the event was nothing less than spectacular for those who RSVP’ed and made it in through the doors. Taking full advantage of the old bank’s layout, the bank’s vault was used to house some of Nike’s most valuable Destroyer Jackets from Brazil’s National Soccer Club, to the Filipino boxing sensation, Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao. Art inspired by the LA Destroyer Team was on showcase for the LA Artwalk to all of those permitted in, as the event reached capacity within hours of it’s doors opening. A special photo-booth was set up in an old office, and let attendees show off their “More Than” likeness in true Nike form.

The show is to feature Nike’s 11 hand-selected LA Destroyer team along with 11 special artists. The show will be curated by Erik Siador, including photography by Ja Tecson and featuring a special live performance from Los Angeles group, J*Davey.

Nike Sportswear continues their inflow of outerwear pieces for this season with the DWR Twill Classic jacket. This lightweight offering has some nice functional qualities such as water and wind resistance, while remaining clean and simple in the looks department. Both colors offered also feature some nice detailing such as the contrasting zippers and taped seals outlining the chest pocket.
