Camper have invited another illustrious designer to work with the footwear brand, this time French avant-garde designer Romain Kremer. Putting together a unique rendition of the classic oxford shoe by applying a more functional aspect with the sneaker finish. Featuring a leather upper, a lace-up design, cushioned insole and rubber outsole, aesthetically the design is highlighted by the colorblocked rubber heel that features different shades.

German Eyewear maker MYKITA have collaborated with one of our favourite up and coming designers Romain Kremer to push the boundaries of design and style with this new YURI Frame. Due to be released in Fall/Winter 2010, the frames will retail for 575 euros at select retailers. “The eyewear, YURI, has been made to protect the 3rd eye and the brain. It reinforces the idea of a new type of man, with a sci-fi warrior touch.” Don’t expect to see them on the street too often, but yet another clear reason why Kremer is penned as one of the ones to watch.

One of the most cutting edge designers coming out of Paris right now is Romain Kremer.  We recently showed you his collaboration with Camper for his Fall/Winter 2010 collection and now we can share the video of his Paris show with you too.  It actually seems paired down in comparison to some of his previous shows, but its far from ordinary. Using a black and white colour palette with flashes of neon and brighter shades, he still manages to retain the space age, sci-fi inspiration for which he is becoming increasingly well known.

Camper and Romain Kremer have collaborated for Kremer’s Fall 2010 Collection as seen last week at Paris Mens Fashion Week. One of the stand out new designers in menswear today, the designer unique forward thinking approach has not gone unnoticed and is certainly a favourite here at SLAMXHYPE. His same visionary style has been exported into his work with Camper on this upcoming collection. The collection is crafted using a combination of premium leather and rubber – the rubber detail will be available eye popping nylon colors as well classic black.

“What I like about Romain’s work is that he will do whatever he wants to do. He is not scared about his influences or taste. The starting point of the shoot was that Nicola saw a connection between Romain’s world and mine and he was right. We emailed each other a lot of videos for references and immediately you could see similar influences as we’re from the same generation. Romain even came up with an old video from a Belgian TV programme that my grandma was working for! He bought the gabba influences, I came up with the strange lights and Nicole glued that all together. It was perfect”

“We first did the photography shoot to get the models more relaxed for the video. One of the influences was this YouTube video by Rineke Dijkstra where the boys are dancing alone on hard techno music. We had the smoke machine on a loop along with the lasers, stroboscopes and flares and after a few beers, the whole team joined in with the models dancing!”
