WTAPS Fall/Winter 2008 “Trash Denim”

We would like to take a minute to show you WTAPS’ “Trash Denim” that has just surfaced recently. As you can clearly see, the denim has received some extreme treatment to create its look reminiscent of what we saw during the summer. Paint drips and stitched in holes can be seen throughout the jeans. These things definitely appear to have been battered and bruised with battle wounds to prove it. Also, another thing worth mentioning is the spider pattern stitched onto the back pocket. Check them for yourself after the jump. Read the full story

These items really depict a mix of Americana with a military theme which has played a huge part of the defining WTAPS direction while color is definitely a speaking point for their winter line.

Here is a more in-depth look at an outstanding piece recently released from W)taps as a part of their “Red Dawn” collection, A premium quality leather and wool down vest which includes some exceptional details from meticulously placed logo embroidery down to the metallic tags. While the market is somewhat saturated with hoodies and t-shirts, Tetsu Nishiayama creates this impressive piece that is perfect for layering, good for all four seasons. Check out this interesting and stylish down vest courtesy of WTAPS. This simple black down vest makes use of leather and wool with a little logo on the chest. Tet encourages potential owners of this nice vest to toss it on over a tee now that the Autumn season is settling in and just prior to the true cold of Winter. WTAPS have mixed many elements of military and technical wear in recent years culminating in some of the most desired items of clothing having played a huge role in turning the street culture into what we know. This latest piece really has a distinctive approach leaving out the a number of pockets while adding yin-yang embroidery on the peace sign along with the fur hood.

Having already seen a M-65 come to fruition from this fruitful collaboration between WTAPS and Bounty Hunter which celebrates the latters 13th anniversary comes this tee of similar aesthetic. Entitled “Lost Boyz” is an exciting piece which really combines two strong names in the culture with great distinction.

WTAPS Fall/Winter 2008 “Red Dawn” EAE Jacket

Comparable to the Teds coat seen in past seasons from WTAPS, the Eae features 3 buttons, a shawl collar,  and more length in the coat taking inspiration from the film noirs. With the usual commendable construction WTAPS have used a cotton twill with a herringbone backing and provided stain damage and given it an aged feel with the characteristic dry cotton feel really showing.
