A Conversation with Eiichiro Homma of nanamica. This guy looks like a Japanese Morgan Freeman, and we like him.
Eiichiro Homma founded nanamica in 2003 after 18 years designing technical outdoor gear — a history that has certainly shone through in his own brand. Since its foundation, nanamica has grown to a position at the forefront of the menswear landscape in Japan (and beyond). Blending traditional silhouettes with utilitarian construction and technical fabrics, Eiichiro has been nailing the casual-but-sensible outdoors look for years. And that’s not to mention his part in designing THE NORTH FACE Purple Label – basically the perfect counterpart to nanamica, and a line that is frustratingly difficult to get our hands on outside of Japan.
Haven caught up with Eiichiro recently at his store, showroom, and office in Daikanyama to discuss both brands. Check out what has he to say in the video above.
