Facial exercises-Carole Maggio, the American cosmetologist, says that there is no one way of plastic surgery to combat your facial expressions. She has developed some exercises. You can make changes in your look and will look more graceful with the help of these exercises.
Here, we are offering you some exercises from her book, ‘The New Facercise: Give Yourself a Natural Facelift.’
Recommendations for how to perform the exercises
- Pose: you should do all the exercises in their next posture. The pose is to sit straight and pull your stomach in as much as you can. In this pose, you can even try to touch your navel with your spine. You have to tighten the muscles of your buttocks and upper legs. It will help you to focus on your facial muscles on which you are going to work.
- Burning sense that you feel in the muscles: there should be a burning sensation in the muscles during exercising. It would mean that your muscles are working at the maximum capacity during exercising. When you are performing facial exercises, your fingertips provide the necessary resistance to the muscles of your face to work effectively and efficiently.
- Forget about the pain: you can press your lips tightly to relax your muscles after exercise. It will help to relieve the excess muscles tension that develops during exercising.
For strengthening the upper eyelids
You have to place your middle fingers between the eyebrows over your nose and need to keep the index fingers at the corners of the eyes from the outer side. Press your skin slightly down with your fingers. Squint your lower eyelids and look upward.
Outer your eye muscles while pressing with your fingers. Alternatively, squeeze your eyelids and relax your eye muscles. Keeping your attention on the pulsating flesh, repeat it ten times.
The circular muscles of the eye get stimulated with the help of this exercise. It tones up the upper eyelids. As a result of which, the muscles of the eyes get tighten. It is because your eyes look more open in looking.
For strengthening the lower eyelids
You have to place the index fingers of both the hands in the middle of your forehead just parallel to your eyebrows. Press your forehead slightly with your fingers. Look upward and concentrate on pushing your forehead upward with eyebrows.
The circular eye muscles and lower eyelids get strengthened with this exercise. The under eye hollows also get reduced by this exercise. It also removes the swelling.
Facial exercises for lifting the forehead
You have to open your mind and pull the lips corners to the different sides. Your mouth should look like an oval. Place the index fingers on the apples of the cheeks. Smile and push the edges down. Repeat this exercise around 35 times at speed. This exercise works if your upper lip is pressed under your teeth.
This exercise helps in raising eyebrows. The formation of wrinkles also gets stopped by it. It also helps the smooth out existing ones.
For improving cheeks
This exercise involves the working of the circular muscles of the mouth. If you perform this exercise regularly, the apples of your cheeks will get uplifted, and it smooths the hollows under your eyes.
For shortening the nose
The tip of your nose gets narrowed with this exercise. It trains the muscles of your nose which bends the nasal septum which is the result, uplift the nose and your nose looks shorter.
For lip contouring
If you perform this exercise regularly, it will make your lips plumper and helps in smoothening the wrinkles over your upper lip.
For smoothing the nasolabial folds
This exercise helps in smoothening the wrinkles from your nose to the mouth corners.
For strengthening the neck
It helps in strengthening the face muscles and helps in keeping our head straight. And also this exercise helps in smoothening and tightening the skin of the neck.

For toning the neck and the chin
This exercise helps to strengthen the jawline and neck which helps to reduce your double chin.
