Effective Homemade hairmasks for hair growth

1. Onion Juice for Hair Growth:

Though it sounds weird, it is true that the most common item you would find in any Indian household and without which Indian cooking is considered spineless can actually do wonders for your hair. It promotes hair growth and also helps in reducing hair fall to a great extent. Now, if you’re wondering how to use onion on your hair, All you need to do is take an onion, peel it off and grind it in a blender/mixer into a fine paste. After that, extract the juice from the pulp. This juice is your hair tonic. Use a cotton pad to apply this to the scalp and hair but concentrate more on the scalp so your roots can absorb this well. After you’re done applying this, Leave it in for a couple of hours and then you can wash it off with a mild shampoo. If the onion juice smell doesn’t wash away, you can add a few drops of rose water, preferable freshly extracted one, to get rid of the smell instantly. The number of onions you might need depends on the size of the onion and also on the length and volume of your hair. A large onion is enough for shoulder length hair.

2. Amla powder and Coconut Oil mask for Hair growth:

If you want to increase the length of your hair, then you should try this remedy. Mix two teaspoons of Amla/Indian gooseberry powder and one teaspoon of pure organic coconut oil. Use this mask on the scalp, along with the length of your hair.This mask is effective in promoting hair growth and also helps in increasing the length of your hair. After applying, leave this mask on for three hours. Later, rinse it with a mild shampoo. For best results, Use this mask twice a month.

3. Egg White and Green Tea for Silky & Shiny Hair:

If you wish to get soft and silky hair, this one is suitable for you!Separate the egg white from the yolk and add a few drops of green tea to it. Whisk it thoroughly and apply this mixture to the entire length of your hair.Leave it on for about 30 minutes or an hour if you can bear the smell of egg. Later, rinse it thoroughly with a mild shampoo. You will instantly feel a difference in the texture of your hair. They will feel shiny and soft.

4. Oil Massage & Towel Steaming will leave your hair Soft:


Oiling your hair is the best remedy to get rid of dryness and frizziness of your hair. Use your favorite oil such as coconut, almond or amla oil. Find out what suits your hair the best and then use that. Massage your hair and scalp with warm oil, and then dip a turkey towel (DO NOT use the normal cotton towels as they can’t retain the steam inside them for very long) in hot water. Strain the excess water and wrap this hot towel around your hair. Keep it that way until the towel is cool. The steam from your towel will be absorbed by your scalp and hair. Repeat this process one or two times. Use this remedy at least once a month to get best results. You’ll be surprised to see your hair soft and healthy.

5. Aloe Vera mask will give you Silky Smooth Hair:

This is the easiest remedy to obtain silky smooth hair. Extract aloe vera gel in a clean bowl, and use this fresh aloe vera gel. You can also use the one available in the market, but that may not be very effective. You may also add a few drops of lemon and rose water to the gel. Combine well and apply this mixture all over your scalp and hair. Keep this mask on for about an hour and then rinse it off. Repeated use will give you best results.

6. Yogurt and Lemon mask to treat Dandruff:

If you have the problem of dandruff, try this remedy.Mix some yogurt and some lemon juice together. Apply this mixture on your scalp and leave it on for 45 minutes. Rinse off with cold water. Do this twice a week to get rid of dandruff completely.

7. Olive Oil to get rid of Dandruff:

Olive oil is best suited to treat your dandruff. Massage your scalp with olive oil. Leave it overnight. To avoid any stains over your covers, make sure to use a cloth over your pillow. In the morning, wash it off with a mild shampoo. The sticky nature of olive oil helps in getting rid of that stubborn dandruff.

8. Fenugreek seed Paste for Dandruff:

If any of the above remedies didn’t work for treating your dandruff, try this super amazing remedy which has been used by your grandmothers since time immemorial. Soak some methi seeds/ fenugreek seeds overnight. Make a fine paste of it in the morning. Apply this paste to the scalp where you have dandruff.Let it dry completely. After it dries, rinse it off thoroughly with a mild shampoo.This has been a very popular remedy to treat dandruff since ages, and it definitely works for everyone!
