Masks for Deep Conditioning of Hair

Following some deep conditioning masks can definitely help. It causes our hair to remain healthy, moisturizes them from deep within and helps to provide good nourishment. At home, one could make so many hair masks, and the ingredients can be easily found lying around. These methods are highly effective. It shall improve the general health of our hair. You could observe a nice shine on them after these treatments.

Hair mask

Hair Mask made from Bananas

You will require:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

The process:

  1. Peel off the skin of 2 ripe bananas
  2. Make a pulp of these two by mashing them off
  3. To the pulp, add a teaspoon each of coconut and olive oil.
  4. Combine all ingredients to make the mix nice and then.
  5. With water, damp your hair well.
  6. From scalp to roots, apply this mix well.
  7. Now use a shower cap to wrap the hair.
  8. For around 30 minutes, let it rest.
  9. For better results, repeat this twice.

This fruit is an amazing source of potassium and vitamins. It helps to avoid breaking of the hair and can add some nice bounce to it. For moisturizing, olive oil and coconut oil is great.

Hair Mask from Yoghurt

You will require-

  • 3 tablespoons of yogurt

The process:

  1. Wash the hair with a good shampoo
  2. Now make sure that the hair is somewhat dried up
  3. From root to tips, apply yogurt to the hair.
  4. Keep it for about 30 to 60 minutes
  5. Wash it away with some warm water.
  6. For better results, repeat this mask twice a week.

There is lactic acid in yogurt which helps to protect the scalp. It also controls excessive oil production in the hair and strengthens the follicles of our hair. Hair is more controllable after this technique.

Hair Mask from Aloe Vera

You will require:

  • 1 leaf of aloe vera

The process:

  1. Cut the fresh aloe vera leaf
  2. Now gently extract the gel within
  3. To get a smooth texture, grind the gel
  4. Without conditioning, wash the hair well.
  5. Let the hair dry almost completely
  6. From the roots to the tips, apply the gel.
  7. For about 30 minutes, let it rest.
  8. Wash this off with warm water
  9. For better results, repeat it once on a weekly basis

Aloe is marvelous when it comes to retaining moisture back to the hair as it has 95% water in it. It helps in hair loss prevention and promotes growth too. It helps control dandruff as it has anti-inflammatory properties and maintains a healthy scalp too.

Mask from Hot Oil

You will require:

  • 5 teaspoons of coconut oil

The process:

  1. Add 5 spoons of oil to a bowl
  2. On a low flame, add the oil gently
  3. From the scalp to the hair tips, apply the oil.
  4. Wrap the hair up in a hot towel after the application.
  5. Allow it to rest for 45 minutes
  6. With shampoo and conditioner, wash out your hair well.
  7. Repeat thrice on a weekly basis for great results.

This treatment can open up the cuticles. The nutrients and moisture are better absorbed. For a healthy scalp. Regular oil treatments are quite beneficial.

(You could skip this regime from thrice to once if you have oily hair type.)

Hair mask from eggs

You will require:

  • 1 Egg
  • Half cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

The process:

Based on your hair type, use the following part of the egg.

  • Egg whites for oily hair
  • Egg yolks for dry hair
  • Whole eggs for normal hair
  1. In a bowl, take the required portion of the egg
  2. After beating the egg well, add in olive oil and milk.
  3. To get a nice smooth consistency, mix well.
  4. From the hair roots to tips, massage the mix well.
  5. Let it stay for a good 15 minutes.
  6. With a shower cap, cover your hair.
  7. With cold or lukewarm water, wash your hair
  8. Use shampoo for thorough cleansing

Eggs are rich in vitamin A, D, and B which help the damage and promote nice hair growth. The hair roots are nourished due to the proteins present in the hair.

Few tips for hair-care:


Use shampoo on alternate days of the week. Don’t forget to condition well after you are done shampooing


Never use hot water to the hair as it will deprive the hair of natural oils. Opt for lukewarm water instead.


Avoid hair dryers and let the hair dry itself naturally


Use a soft bristled brush to brush the hair gently. It also helps to distribute the oils all over the scalp.


Before stepping out, cover your hair. Protect it always against the harshness of the sun, wind, and dust.
