How to know if someone is in love with you? When we fall in love, our body responds by making us feel happy, elated and ecstatic. Feeling butterflies in the stomach, blushing, faltering or sweating, these can be signs that you are in love with.
Not only are there specific emotional changes associated with falling in love but, there can be hormonal and psychological changes as well. Noticing someone looking at you has fetching eyes or that one person who you always find behaving pretentiously and ready to do anything for you? Well, such behavior suggests that love is in the air.
We at Banter have collected seven striking markers or changes that will let you know whether someone is in love or not. Check them out:
1. Eyes
It all starts with the eyes. They are the windows to your soul. In the beginning, we tend to exchange a lot of glances with each other. Many studies prove that if you can stare into the eyes of a person for quite a while, you will fall in love with each other. And if you are already in love with someone, then you will try to sink into each other’s eyes more and more.
Psychologists have long known that whenever we see someone we adore, our pupils dilate. That’s the reason why we try to gaze into each other’s eyes. Subconsciously, we are checking whether the other person has feelings for us or not.
2. I would die for you
It is quite apparent that we become mighty and energetic when a catastrophic situation arises. However, when we are in love, we tend to have superpowers as well. Oxytocin or the love hormone acts as a bond between people who love each other. This hormone also makes us bear more physical pain and endurance to take risks. It is, thus, understood why people say things like ‘I would swim an ocean for you’ or ‘I would fight against the whole world to get you’.
3. Hormonal changes
What makes us feel strongly towards someone we love? Well, the answer lies in the hormones in our body. Certain hormones make people feel romantic and passionate about their beloved ones. However, the amount of these substances rush in the early days of your love life and start decreasing as time goes by. Also, the degree of intimacy between men and women is considerably different.
At first, men tend to be more aggressive and passionate as the level of testosterone is quite high. But, as oxytocin starts to take over, men become more romantic and caring. Women, on the other hand, have a reverse phenomenon. Initially, they are ruled by bonding and not intimacy. But as the level of testosterone increases, their sexual drive increases as well.

4. Voice changes
According to a study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Psychology, women talk in a softer and higher register with their beloved ones. Meanwhile, another survey by Susan Hughes, associate professor of psychology at Albright College, found out that women can lower their pitch and increase their hoarseness to dial up the allure.
Men, whether they admit it or not, choose women who are more feminine. Instincts tell us that a woman with a high pitch indicates that she is caring and will support you throughout the relationship.
5. Blushing in women
Why do we blush if some handsome guy or an attractive girl smiles at you? Blushing is usually associated with embarrassment. However, psychologists say that blushing signals that a person is emotionally aroused. When you feel excited, more blood rushes into your cheeks, and they appear reddish.
Men find women with redder cheeks very attractive. Blushed cheeks show that a woman is shy and likes you. But the best thing about it is that it is not in your control. You can just fake blushing, thus, making it one of the most honest and reliable impression.
6. Strength in men
Various studies at the University of California suggest that men who are in a long-term relationship have a higher bone density which means they are stronger and healthier. However, the same study showed that men, whether married or in a long-term relationship, who didn’t find the bond happy had normal bone strength. When there is no strength in a relationship, how can we expect any physical strength in the couple?

7. Stress
The experience of falling in love may be sweet, but sometimes, the emotions can be overwhelming. Some people take their relationships to extremes which can negatively affect their health. If there are hardships, stress builds up. Also, cortisol, a stress hormone, peaks up which can leave you tired and depressed.
Strong emotions leave a strong mark on our bodies. Some of the adverse effects of falling (or failing) in love are nervousness, delusions, mood swings, nausea, anorexia, and fatigue.
‘Balance’ is the key to a successful relationship. Don’t undermine an opportunity when the right guy or girl comes into your life. However, at the same time, do not plunge deep into something from where you cannot return. The adage ‘no pains no gains’ is valid only when you know where you are going.
