Tricks to make your gadgets look better
Earphones
Earphones are the worst when it comes to cleaning. Most us pick a toothpick and pick our way through it. But there is another easy option, a toothbrush. So the next time you have to clean your earphones pick a toothbrush and a piece of paper or towel placed on the table; hold the earphone with its grille facing downwards towards the paper and carefully remove the dirt with the help of the toothbrush.
Electronic cords
Are you always troubled about how to clean those white electronic cords and get rid of the dirt? Do you reach for some fluids containing spirits to wipe off the dirt? Well, don’t. Spirits can damage the cords beyond repair. A simple alternative to this fluid is an eraser. Yes, it’s that simple.

Headphone jacks
An interdental brush is a perfect choice for cleaning headphone jacks. The size of these brushes almost matches the size of the hole for your headphones on the devices. But do not forget to switch of the devices entirely before cleaning it.
Keyboard
There is always a layer of dust surrounding the buttons on your keyboard which is hard to dust off. Sometimes I am just one step away from vacuuming the darn thing (obviously I am kidding *coughs*). Well, there is a way to clean this dirt with sticky tape. Effortless cleaning is all you have to do.
Screens of the devices
The screens of your devices should be cleaned using a microfiber cloth. Do not use paper towels instead because at the end of it you may leave some scratches on your screen. Go for microfiber cloth instead which is an accurate alternative.
Computer monitors
What if I tell that coffee filters work great in cleaning the dirt off your monitors? The material with which the filter is made will also not leave any scratches behind on your device.

USB ports
A homemade brush can clean the USB ports without any damage. To make this brush, you will need:
- A stiff piece of plastic.
- Superglue
- Some variety of synthetic material for cleaning. An excellent choice is the soft part of a velcro strip.
Stick the synthetic material to the plastic. The whole thing should be slightly narrower than the width of the USB port. While sticking the material to the plastic make sure to smoothen any uneven layer of glue. Once the glue has dried completely, it is ready to clean the ports.
The glass screen of the smartphone
An ordinary paper is enough to clean the screens of your smartphones. Rub the paper in a circular motion on the screen and get rid of the dirt sitting on the screen. Do not use the ones made of plastic or liquid-crystalline material.
Scratches on your smartphone
To make sure that your cleaning may not lead to any damage to the device you need to switch it off and cover all the buttons, microphone aperture, and all other ports with the help of sticky tape. Now, with the help of a soft cloth containing soaked polish in it, get rid of the scratches while applying it in circular motions.
I am sure that these simple tricks will help you clean your precious devices and that too without any damage. Did you find the answers to some of your questions in the article? Tell me all about it in the comments below.
